'The Ladies of Edgewater
Book Club"
The club will meet the 2nd
Wednesday of each month at
11am in the
Edgewater club house. The
book club is open to all
Edgewater ladies who enjoy
reading and sharing their
favorite good books with
others.
Books on our list include
but are not limited to:
1. "The Kite Runner" by
Khaled Hosseini
2. "The Memory Keeper's
Daughter" by Kim Edwards
3. "The Ladies of the
Club" by Helen Hooven
Santmyer
4. "Perfume" by Patrick
Susskind
5. "A Thousand Splendid
Suns" by Khaled Hosseini
6. "The Emperor's
Children" by Claire Messud
7. "A Tree Grows in
Brooklyn" by Betty Smith
We hope to make this a
casual, easy group without
any pressure to speak if you
would prefer not. But we
hope you will want to share
your thoughts on the books
you like.
Devra Long will moderate the
1st term.
The club may provide coffee
and tea for us.
We will have a social
instead of a meeting in
December and will not meet
in June, July and August.
Discussions might include:
1. How did you rate this
book? Why?
2. What impressions did you
get?
3. How did it affect you?
4. What was different about
this book from others you've
read?
5. Have you or anyone you
know experienced anything
like what took place
in this book?
6. Did this book change any
notions you've had? How?
In what way?
Tell us what you would like
to read, what else you
have read and
what you are reading. Also
bring books to swap with the
others if you
would care to.
