Dear Remington Place Residents,
This letter is to remind all residents of Remington Place of the restrictions in the Covenants regarding parking. The number one item on the recent Edgewater Survey of what homeowners want was Covenants enforcement.
For many years now the Edgewater Board of Directors has tried to be proactive in keeping the streets and cul-de-sac’s in Remington Place free of cars regularly parked on the street. Past Boards of Directors have tried many avenues to correct this ongoing problem and Covenants violation, unfortunately with not much success.
Your vehicles cannot regularly be parked on the street, whether in front of your house or in the cul-de-sac by your home. Up to two vehicles may be parked in your driveway, but neither is allowed to extend over the sidewalk. The vehicles cannot be parked on the grass adjacent to your house. If you are currently unable to comply with these restrictions because you are using your garage as storage or as a workshop, you must take action to either clean out your garage or make arrangements to park your excess cars out of Edgewater.
Short term guests of Edgewater residents may park vehicles on the street providing the vehicle is not located where it could obscure the view, obstruct traffic, or block the entranceway of a residence. Guests who remain more than one week are required to arrange for vehicle parking in approved off-street areas. Guests with RV’s may park in the street for no more than five days. Such temporarily street-parked RV’s may not be used for overnight camping or for sleeping quarters during the visit.
As Covenants Chair and Vice president of Edgewater Board of Directors, I have the responsibility to make sure that we all follow the Covenants. This applies to homeowners and renters. Our Declaration of Covenants is a legal document. More than 80% of the residents make a strong effort to comply with the Covenants in their entirety. With that said, we will make sure we know who owns cars that are regularly parked on the streets, cul-de-sacs, and driveways in violation of the Covenants. These people will be receiving notices to comply. If this does not work, fining procedures will be enforced.
I will be glad to respond to concerns and questions. Please do not call the office. Our office manager does not answer questions concerning Edgewater policy at this time. You may call me, May Hudson at 772-3438. If we have an abundance of concerns or questions, we can schedule a meeting so all the concerns regarding parking can be voiced.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
May Hudson, Covenants Chair and Vice President of EOA
